I am working on the backing for my quilt “Seaside’. The backing fabric is VERY directional so I decided to add some teal fabric to divide the backing it into sections. Photo isn’t the best but it gives you an idea of what the fabric looks like. The teal isn’t quite that bright in real life. On Wednesday, I will be dropping the quilt at Sara’s, my long-arm quilter, who will work her magic on it. The quilting design will have a swirling water feel to it with some bubbles.
I want to enter ‘Seaside’ in the non-judged section of the Minnesota Quilt Show. The show is being held in St. Cloud this year on June 12th – 14th. I usually have two quilts in the show and I am lucky that my second quilt just needs binding, sleeve and label. April 19th is the deadline for registration and the quilt needs to be delivered the first week of June. Seems like I have a lot of time but every year I am rushing to get them finished. I promise myself (again) to start working on them earlier and more often.
