    It is no longer summer but I just finished my Scrappy Summer #3 – ‘Honeycomb’ quilt top. It is a small wall hanging measuring 35″x41″. I think the background color really sets off all of the different fabrics in the quilt. This is the first time I work with hexagons. It was a little fussy to sew them together but I really like the look.

    Scrappy Summer 2015 – #3

    This is my first time working with hexagons… so far so good. Still have to tackle sewing them together but the first step is to sew on the triangles. The triangles are over sized so that I don’t have to worry as much about placement. I would rather spend the extra time trimming than fussing to be accurate.

    As you can see I have made some progress and some of the blocks are sewn together into vertical rows. Still need to figure out the best way to press the seams to help in putting the rows together. Don’t you love the pink insulation I use for my design wall.
