Quiltsville Challenge quilt top done
Ignore the wrinkles. It was pressed very nicely before I folded it up to take to work for show and tell. The quilt takes a more traditional quilt block and puts it into a contemporary layout using bright colors.
On the left is a photo of the inspirational antique quilt that Quiltsville had on her blog. On the right is my version called ‘FACETS’.

Quiltsville Challenge
Back a couple of weeks ago I showed you a collection of fabrics I had put together. I have been trying to find a scrappy design but haven’t been thrilled with anything I found. Sometimes, a girl just has to wait for inspiration to show up. At the same time, the 2014 Leaders and Enders challenge was announced on Bonnie Hunter’s blog at Quiltsville Quips & Snips. The photo on the left shows you the block design for the challenge.
The light bulb went on - I found my inspiration for the blue and green fabrics collection. Here are the first few blocks of my version of ‘Lozenges’. As you can tell I have added some bright solids for the corners.Micki
