Warning….long story. I have a collection of fabrics that I wanted to use for a quick charity quilt but wasn’t sure what design or pattern to use. My girlfriend and quilting buddy, Carla, suggested I use the ‘Yellow Brick Road’ pattern by Atkinson Designs. Great idea. It looks like a design that would work with my colorful fabrics. So I started to cut them up but realized that I didn’t like one of the blocks in the pattern. So, what’s a girl going to do? I figured out a replacement block and got back to cutting and sewing.
Well, it was time to sew the blocks together and I didn’t like it when I used all three blocks types. I pondered the situation and moved around the blocks for awhile and then decided that I would use two of the block types in Yellow Brick Road 1 and use the other one for Yellow Brick Road 2.
Of course, I had made a few too many blocks so the leftovers got added to the second small quilt. Confused yet ? Yeah, I know.
