Habitat # 3
Well, finally, I am posting a photo of Habitat # 3. If you are new to my blog I tend to do a series of small quilts during the summer. I choose a fabric collection and work with them for awhile. The fourth quilt top in this series is also done and will take some nice photos and share them later. I know there is enough yardage, leftovers strip sets and scraps to make more so don’t be surprised if you see another quilt in the future.
Habitat # 3 is an oversized ‘Plus’ layout. It finishes at 52″ square.

I liked the ‘plus’ block layout so much that I decided to pull together some oriental fabrics and make another quilt. I made the blocks bigger and added more blocks to make it finish at 59×77. The photo has a little yellow cast but you get the idea. Sorry about that but look at closeup photo. It is closer to the actual colors.

It is getting time to start getting the garden ready for winter. The only blooms left now are a few rubeckias and the beautiful Endless Summer hydrangea blooms.

I have recently joined a group of wonderful ladies that get together to make charity quilts. I am now on a mission to try to use up some of my stash. It has been keeping me busy. How are your projects coming along?
Check out my “Linky Parties” page to find some fabulous blogs where I share my projects and get inspiration.

Beautiful! I love quilts that have the Plus block and this is no exception! I totally understand using scraps over and over again until they are all gone…I do it all the time. I might have two, three or four quilts from the same fabric!

Lovely plus quilts. They are a great way to use up a stash. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!

Love that plus quilt… or could you call it a variation on a 9 patch? It looks terrific. It might be time for me to make another plus quilt … or finish a lot of UFOs. Probably better to do the UFOs. Sigh.
