Paint Chip Challenge
I just realized, that during all of the excitement of the holidays, I forgot to post a photo of my ‘Paint Chip Challenge’ quilt. Minnesota Quilters hosted a challenge by giving members an envelope containing three paint chips. Using the paint chip colors you were to make something from a table runner to a quilt in any style that would be showcased at the MQ Holiday Banquet. The rules where simple. You were able to add one color and black and white. My colors were the yellow, green and orange. I decided to add the blue and to use white for my background. I follow Bonnie Hunter’s blog and at that time she was doing a ‘tumbler’ challenge. So, I put the two ideas together to make this colorful quilt.

The photo doesn’t do justice to the wonderful machine quilting that Patti Marrin of PM Quilt Design created.
If you are in the area, there will be a special display of the Paint Chip challenge entries at the annual Minnesota Quilt show being held in St. Cloud MN this June.

What a vibrant and interesting quilt! I love the use of the negative space – and bet your longarm quilter had all kinds of fun deciding how to fill it! Congrats on a great finish.

That’s such a fun challenge, and your quilt turned out so well. I love the ‘broken’ inner border.
