Design Wall Wednesday
One of the things I did this past weekend is update my ‘My Quilt’ page. It now (FINALLY) has photos of most of my 2014 quilts. If you click on a photo you will be able see them all in a slide show. I still need to find photos of my 2013 quilts and I am thinking that I want to add a separate gallery for quilts that are ‘BB’ – before blog.
Making progress on the sashing strips for ‘Gum Drops’. I have eight done of the 31 that I need. I am very happy with the look. Still undecided on what to do for posts and corners.
I am sure you have seen many quilts featuring this split block in blogland. Not sure if it has an official name but here is one version at Quilter’s Table called Postcard Quilt. In the book ‘Colorful Quilts for Fabric Lovers’ by the folks at Blue Underground Studios, I found a couple of different versions. I love the simplicity of the design which allows the big prints to show off.

My ‘Circular Saw’ quilt is coming together quickly. I already have the blocks sewn into rows.
What are you working on this week?
Check out my ‘Linky Parties’ page to find some fabulous blogs where I share my projects and get inspiration.

Love the gumdrops quilt layout so far … I’d be tempted to do something black and white for the cornerstones 🙂

Serena, thanks for your suggestion of using black and white or the cornerstones. There is a bit of both colors in the quilt. Micki

All of these are great looking projects! Love the Gum Drops and I made one of those Postcard quilts with Kaffe and black and white fabrics. Have fun!

Carol, thanks for the compliment and I was also pondering what this ‘postcard’ quilt would look in black and white (I have lots). Micki
