Stumped

Saw a beautiful delectable mountain quilt on Jan’s Quilts blog. Really liked it and been trying to figure out what fabrics to use for a couple of weeks. I have been searching on-line, checking magazines and looking at my idea box for inspiration. Found a few ideas, some would work better using regular fabrics some better for batiks. Okay – I am officially STUMPED. Too many ideas and not sure which direction I want to go. I think I will set it aside for awhile to ponder. In the meantime I am looking at some of my UFO’s to see if I can finish something.

The individual block units aren’t not very big – only measuring 3-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ but I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with them — until now. I plan on sewing them together using a partial seam method. The center of the block will be the same beige background fabric I used in ‘Ya Ya.   FYI – the pink in the photo is the design wall.

I made most of the little units years ago using some of the leftover scraps from a quilt I made in 2007 called ‘Fall Leaves’ (left photo). I used that same fabric collection when I made ‘Ya Ya’ in 2014 (right photo). It is fun to see how the same fabric collection can make two very different quilts.

I think my little UFO will be a really nice seasonal wall hanging when I am done. What are you working on?
