Scrappy Summer #4

The quilt has taken a long time to get done. First because of my full time job’s HUGE projects and deadlines and then my sewing machine was in the shop for almost four weeks.

Here is the fourth in my series of Scrappy Summer – ‘Labyrinth’. The quilt is 52″ square made mostly of mini rail fences. Once I figured out the layout on the design wall the sewing was easy. Just put them together in rows, sewed the rows together and then I added a pieced border.

I found the block on someone’s blog and followed their link to Andrea Harris’ quilt at Moda Bake Shop. While you are there look under the ‘chef’s’ page to find more of her beautiful quilt patterns.

Fall is definitely here in Minnesota. Leaves are falling and it is time to trim down all of the perennials and get the garden beds ready for winter. One of the last flowering shrub I have is an ‘everlasting’ hydrangea. Here is the one and only bloom I got this year.
