Continuing my series of small Scrappy Summer quilts I am proud to show off ‘HOPSCOTCH’. It turned out exactly like I envisioned it. Totally AWESOME! It finishes 42″ x 56″ using 35 of the 64 dark tone on tone fat quarters fabrics and a beige Kona solid for the background.
When I finished my Scrappy Summer #1, I asked my brother to see if he could come up with a name. It is a combination of ‘Trip Around The World’ and ‘Checkerboard’. Paul suggested ‘Hopscotch’. I liked the name but thought ‘Trip Around The Checkerboard’ fit the quilt a bit better. BUT…the name ‘Hopscotch’ stuck in my head. It inspired me to design this quilt.
If you are new to my blog – here is Scrappy Summer #1 – Trip Around The Checkerboard’ and the blog post showing #2 – Greek Cross is here. I am already working on Scrappy Summer #4 and #5 and have an idea for #6. This has been a fun project and great that the fabrics are already chosen and ready for me to use. That being said it did take me a LONG time to gather, cut and starch 64 fat quarters.
Summer seems to be flying by too quickly but here are a couple of photos of my garden.
