Pin Cushion

I just noticed that it has been a month since the last post. Sorry about that. Work has been hectic and the gardens are yelling at me to water and weed them.

Many years ago at the Minnesota Quilt show I purchased a couple of fat quarter packets from Pin Cushion. Loved the purple/green floral fabrics but just didn’t know what to do with them until now.

For any of you out there that know me, I am a planner so designing a quilt as I go is going WAY outside my box. I did, however, find a great fabric for a background. It is white with lilac dots. The store only had a bit so this quilt won’t be getting too large. Not sure what I was doing but thought half square triangles were easy and very versatile. Made a bunch and came up with at least a dozen layouts but none of them clicked. While visiting blog land I came across a churn dash quilt. I have been wanting to make another one but wasn’t sure in what colors. Well, guess what! I think that is the plan. Not sure how big or how I will layout out the blocks but I off to make more HST’s.
